Absolutely mind-blowing facilities with charming decor and spacious rooms. The onsen is the best in town, especially the private outdoor one. The staff is wonderful and the owner's origami skills are impressive. Perfect location near onsens, shops, and restaurants.

The decoration in this ryokan is absolutely stunning. The traditional Japanese style with polished wooden beams and sliding screens creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. The general areas are well-maintained and easily accessible for senior people like myself. The staff were always there to assist with any needs, ensuring a comfortable stay.
I would have appreciated if there were more handrails or support in the common areas, especially for older guests.

I had an amazing experience at this traditional ryokan in Yamanouchi. The onsen bath was truly incredible, especially the private one we got to enjoy with our family. The breakfast served in a private tatami room was a unique and memorable experience. The room itself was spacious and beautifully decorated in a traditional Japanese style. I highly recommend this ryokan for anyone seeking an authentic and unforgettable stay.

This hotel in the heart of Shibu Onsen is a gem. The traditional ryokan experience is top-notch, with beautiful artwork and a private onsen that offers a peaceful escape. The friendly and helpful staff, including the English-speaking host, add a personal touch to the stay. The location is perfect for exploring the nearby onsen and enjoying the local restaurants. The room, with its view of the beautiful garden on the upper level, is a delight. And the breakfast spread, with its wide variety of dishes, is a delicious start to the day.
All was great, no improvement needed.

Best aspects of my stay during Christmas were the authentic ambiance and the amazing onsen bath. the traditional Japanese atmosphere of the hotel really made me feel like I was in old Japan. the outdoor onsen was a real highlight - having it all to myself was a special treat.
Worst aspects of my stay were the lack of English-speaking staff and the uncomfortable cold inside the hotel. It was difficult to communicate with the staff, and I wouldn't recommend it to non-Japanese speakers.

Great staff- polite and helpful. the private bath was a great experience. Best aspects: the location was perfect, with easy access to nearby restaurants and shops. the traditional Japanese artwork added a charming touch to the ambiance.
Our room, which was quite small and not very comfortable. the heating system did not work properly and we had to ask for a portable heater.

Staying at this traditional ryokan was a unique experience! the location is great, close to the Snow Monkey park and near the bus stop and many restaurants. the room was spacious, well-equipped, clean, and had a lot of character. the onsen baths were a highlight, with both indoor and outdoor options. the breakfasts were delicious and there were many interesting dishes to try. the service was wonderful and the staff made us feel very welcome.
The only issue was that the traditional sit-down shower may take some getting used to, if you're not accustomed to it.
